Speculation is rife this week that T-Mobile USA is planning to launch the world's first Android-powered mobile device as early as next month.

Reuters reports that Ghana's government has resubmitted Vodafone's US$900 million offer for a 70 percent stake in Ghana Telecom to parliament this week as opposition to the deal continues.

Ericsson has launched broadband Internet services through 3G technology under a pilot project in Bangladesh. Under the project 'Alokito Bangladesh,' the company will demonstrate high-speed Internet and advanced services, including mobile health and mobile learning, in Dhaka until October.

China Mobile's music platform 12530.com reportedly recorded 5.73 million downloads of Olympic opening ceremony theme song "You and Me" between 10pm on August 8 and midnight, August 9. The operator's TD-SCDMA network also recorded 7,000 users and over 800 video calls on the evening of August 8.

Handset vendor Meridian Mobile is targeting a 10 percent market share in India by the end of its current fiscal year and plans to increase its device range from 34 to 100 by the end of this year, reports India's Business Standard.
